Moreporks are an incredible type of bird, they fly silently and have incredibly good eyesight, they are able to turn their head around 270 degrees. Moreporks have soft fringes on the end of their feathers so they can fly silently; it helps them to catch their prey. They are usually found in Mainland New Zealand but less common within Canterbury, Otago and offshore islands. The length of them are 29 cm and they weigh 175g but females are bigger than the males. There predators are stoats and possums when its breeding season

  1. Great work again Nikkita, really good choice of bird as your mascot. Once again, you are really excelling in this visual medium of blogging and I liked the fact you used colour picker to amplify your message by colouring your border to match the dominant colours. You should celebrate the skills you are developing in your reflection of your learning. Did it say whether morepork were endangered? How many are left in New Zealand?

This is the first image or gif I have ever seen, but I have heard their distinctive calls when I have been on school camps up near Geraldine. Friday 28th August, I was working with teachers from around Christchurch who have been looking at blog posts and DLO's. Student created DLO's can improve deeper learning for students, by using a multimedia approach. Te Ara Tuhura cluster students in the primary schools are reading posts made by Mairehau High School students and it would be great if you could teach them your skills. You were awesome at helping your classmates during the Hero's Quest slideshow and it would be great if you, or you and a friend could somehow teach the primary students how you changed the borders to match the borders.

See me if you would like to trial doing a DLO (digital learning object) of your hexcodes and html border skills. It would be great if you could have a rewindable resource that Year 9 Mairehau students in 2021 could use to amplify their blogs.
